It’s not often that we get news regarding Android Wear, but that’s exactly what’s happened today, and it’s pretty exciting news at that.
Android Oreo is starting its rollout to Android Wear devices. Googler Hoi Lam announced the news on Google+, adding that the timing of each device’s update is determined by the manufacturer.
The Oreo update for Android Wear brings with it new features like a notification vibration strength setting and a touch lock option for wet conditions. Also included is support for seven new countries/languages, notification channels, battery-saving background limits, and more.
This is exciting news for anyone rocking an Android Wear smartwatch on their wrist. We don’t yet know exactly when each device will be updating, but at least if you’ve got an Android Wear watch, at least you now know that Oreo is starting to make its way to smartwatches and that you should keep an eye out for your update.
Do you have an Android Wear smartwatch? If so, which model do you have?
